The 8th-grade students completed an integrated lesson in biology, physics, mathematics, and Russian on the topic "The Visual Analyzer. The Eye as an Optical System."

The first part of the lesson, led by the biology teacher, focused on the structure and functions of the eye. Lyubov Nikolaevna Subbotina introduced zoology, recalling the different types of eyes found in different animals. They also focused on the characteristics of human vision. They used a chart, models of the eye, brain, and skull. The students worked in groups, completing flashcard assignments individually and as a group, and completed quizzes. Oleg Anatolyevich Nadein took over. He discussed the structure of the eye from a physical perspective, using a diagram to explain how images are formed inside the eye, what we see, and why the eye is an optical instrument. He also highlighted visual impairments and how they can be corrected. Next, the students, along with their math teacher, Galina Valentinovna Goman, calculated the focal length. They also considered how far a book should be from the eye when reading. Russian language teacher Nagima Birzhanovna Ospanova selected a text on eye hygiene. The students worked through it, identified one-part sentences, and wrote an essay. During the lesson, the students learned eye exercises. With such a comprehensive approach, the eighth-graders mastered the topic.
