Does your child dream of building their own robot? Our robotics club, organized by the DOSTI Innovation Center for elementary school students, transforms children's curiosity into real-world engineering skills. It's a place where LEGO bricks come to life, and computers become creative tools. Robotics isn't just a game. It's a comprehensive developmental program for children using the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) methodology::
- Logic and algorithms: learning to build a sequence of actions.
- Fine motor skills: working with small parts, developing coordination, and perseverance.
- Teamwork: We create most projects in pairs, learning to negotiate and help each other.
- Fundamentals of physics and mechanics: learning about gears, levers, and motion sensors.
The program is structured from simple to complex:
- Construction: building a model based on a diagram or our own design.
- Programming: Using simple visual blocks (a Scratch-like environment), we create a "brain" for the robot.
- Experimentation: We test the robot, correct errors, and improve the design.
To transform children's curiosity into real discovery, our lessons use modern educational kits specially adapted for primary school children:
- LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 / SPIKE Essential: Ideal for first steps in robotics.
- Resource kits: for creating large-scale and complex mechanisms.
- Tablets and laptops: with an intuitive interface for young programmers.
Robotics is 21st-century literacy. Children learn to think systemically and embrace complex challenges.
